Welcome to Willow Class!
Welcome to Willow Class 2026-2027
A very warm welcome to Willow Class! I am delighted to be teaching your children and am really looking forward to an exciting year of learning, discovery and growth together. Our classroom will be a place where every child is encouraged to be curious, share ideas and take pride in what they can achieve. Every child has something special to contribute, and our classroom is a place where children feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves.
Throughout the year, we will celebrate progress as well as achievement, recognising that learning is a journey and that mistakes are an important part of getting better. We will develop a strong growth mindset, encouraging children to embrace challenges, persevere when things feel difficult and celebrate the progress they make along the way. I have high expectations for every child, while recognising that we develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. My aim is for every child to leave Willow Class feeling more confident, more independent and proud of how far they have come.
We have an exciting and engaging curriculum ahead of us, with plenty of opportunities to learn through discussion, investigation, creativity and practical experiences. From exploring the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt, discovering the secrets of rainforests, and developing our mathematical thinking, to becoming enthusiastic writers and thoughtful readers. We will explore science, art, geography and beyond through interesting topics to spark curiosity and imagination. Being a mixed Year 3/4 class gives us wonderful opportunities to learn from one another, develop independence and celebrate the different strengths, interests and ideas that each child brings to our classroom.
Most importantly, I want this to be a year that the children look back on with a real sense of pride, confidence and enjoyment. I am looking forward to getting to know each child, discovering what they enjoy and helping them recognise just how much they are capable of. By working together as a class, and in strong partnerships with parents and carers, we will make this a happy, memorable and successful year. I cannot wait to see where our learning takes us!
